Margaret and Ranald looked to replace the existing kitchen in the old outhouse and link better with the garden. The proscenium arch design with side bay was developed with associate Architect Geoff Taplin of PH2 Creative to provide a simple enclosure with small covered deck area and bay window seated area to enjoy the morning sun. Finished with render and treated cedar, the extension contrasts elegantly with the stone house. Top lights introduce natural light and internal alterations have added a new shower room and utility space. The garden is to be landscaped to enhance the link between interior and exterior. "An excellent architect - highly recommended Andy McLeish was recommended to us, to help us in designing and building a new kitchen extension, along with other internal alterations. He was excellent to work with throughout the project...- from initial concept design, through the planning process, the build itself, to the finishing off and completion. The outcome was that the house really works well for us in practical terms now, the extension looks great, and we survived the build with our sanity intact! - all thanks to the calm and reassuring attitude, and professional approach, shown by Andy. Having been fortunate to have had him recommended to us, we are only too happy to pass on that recommendation." Ranald & Margaret Duff - Perth |
